Key Concept: Deforming the existing and reforming the new.

This house is located nearby River bank in Wuxi, PRC. The concept for renovating this house was to completely reintroduce a new look on the façade and convert it into hostel accommodation. The existing rectangular shape of the house is transformed by adding new facets on the corners, which are blended into the main wall with a curved shape, giving the building a new spatial meaning. The roof terrace was rearranged to provide a cozy and convenient space for relaxation. Seamless windows are a characteristic of this corner box, providing an unobstructed view of the surroundings. The interplay of light and shadow on the white volume gives this house a sculptural feel, with its wall-window composition.
